🎶 I lead a selfish life
'Cause that's what I need 🎶
I am single.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It doesn't bother me at all but MAN does it seem to be an issue for everyone else.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Single people are too often stereotyped and stigmatized. They are pitied, while married people are celebrated. Single life can be tremendously meaningful and fulfilling. Of course, being single can be a challenge at times…Like when you don’t have a date to a wedding, when you’re home alone on a Friday night or when it’s the holidays and someone asks you “so are you seeing someone?”, again. Apparently to everyone it seems when you aren't in a relationship you must be hung up on an ex...or, and hear me out here, you can just be comfortable waiting for the right person that checks all your boxes. Amazing isn't it?

There are times when your friends, family, or just society, in general, can make you feel bad for being single but being single can be actually pretty amazing. It’s not always lonely, you get to learn a lot about yourself. You get to eat the food you want, watch the TV show you want, decorate your house the way you want, you get to be happy and have things that make you happy around you.

I remember listening to a podcast that said “Married people are often considered to be happier and healthier, while single people are often stereotyped as being isolated, self-centred and unhappy. What if this is all a myth?”. Truthfully a lot of the time the single people I know are happy and less stressed than others in relationships.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do I want to get married one day and have kids? Of course, I do, but for now, I’m ok!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Are you single? Are you partnered up? Are you married? How do you feel about single life?
With Love, Coco 💜
